Since finishing chemo, I’ve been getting blood tests every 6 weeks to make sure I’m still in remission. Each time I get a little nervous for a few days leading up to the appointment, slightly worried about finding scary markers in my blood.

But at the end of my visit today (still no cancer, whew), my oncologist said I could schedule my next followup in 3 months, since I’ll hit the 1-year mark in May. Woo hoo!

That means only 8 more slightly scary clinic visits until I’ve hit the golden 5-year mark: 4 visits to my 2nd anniversary, 2 to the 3rd, then 2 more annual visits to be free and clear!
