Today has been all about family. This morning I facetimed with my sister, Pamela, and her 22-month-old, Orion, for about 45 minutes.
Then I had two great hours with Alex, Zoe, and Griffin. The kids converted my hospital bed into a fun ride by trying out all of the buttons many times—especially the chair position. It’s only been 15 minutes and I’m missing them again already.
We’ve been making bedtime work by giving the kids alternate nights with me on Alex’s phone. I read to them off of my iPad, then watch them doze off. It’s not the same as being there, but still pretty wonderful. Then, thanks to my mom staying with us a few nights a week, Alex is able to steal off to hang out with me while the kids are asleep. Here’s Zoë tucked into bed.
