3/2: merry-go-round

It’s hard to believe how fast two weeks have flown by. For the most part, it’s been a great two weeks. My side effects were minimal, with none of the horrendous stomach pain, epic nosebleeds, or swollen, burning hands from the first round. Relatives and friends have coddled me and the rest of the family. And I didn’t have to experience the weirdness of losing my hair since it’s already gone ;-). The only hiccup was a platelet transfusion reaction that ended up with me in the ER for ten hours late one night, most of which I spent just waiting for blood test results and getting a corrective transfusion.

I’m scheduled to go back into the hospital next week for my third round of chemo. This whole process feels like a merry-go-round, a little tiring now but with an incredible prize when I get off at the end.

Meanwhile, as my recent photos show, I love this hat pattern (I now have four versions of it) and highly recommend it for follicly challenged women: ravelry.com/patterns/library/capucine.
